Band and Orchestra
What to expect
The Band and Orchestra meet on Tuesday evenings
from 6:30-8:30pm. We begin rehearsal in the choir room with a “pre-game” meeting, and move up to the worship center. The environment is very casual, and we have lots of fun!
We also meet on Sunday mornings from 8:00-9:15am to do a sound check and full run-through of that week’s music.
what is expected
Everyone in the orchestra
is expected to be on time for all rehearsals.
Additionally, we ask that you make us aware of your schedule, and if you need to be absent, to let us know well in advance so that we can plan the music based on the instrumentation that we have available. We do understand that things can come up last minute, but we just ask that you keep us in the loop.
Additionally, you are expected to be flexible and to be a team player. We ask that you spend as much time in personal preparation as it takes to learn the material well and to be comfortable with it during our worship times.
Additional info
We are always looking for skilled musicians of
any sort, age sixteen and older, to join with us! To join the band or orchestra, you must contact the Worship Pastor first. You will be asked to sit in on rehearsals for a few weeks until both you and the Worship Pastor are comfortable with you playing during a service. The music that we do is usually on about a first year college level, but all skill levels are welcome. We really believe that there is no better way
to improve as a musician than to come and sit in for rehearsals for a period of
time.
Additionally, we try to take every opportunity we can to help you learn and grow by bringing in world-class teachers and instructors, as well as attending music workshops, master classes, and conferences. We are very invested in you becoming the best musician you can be!
