Worship Choir

what to expect

The worship choir is a unique opportunity to champion the name of Christ through the particular means of singing truth-drenched worship music.  It is open to anyone 16 years  of age and up, and anyone is welcome to sit in  on a rehearsal with no pressure to actually join.

Choir meets at 7:00pm on Wednesdays in the choir room.  If it is your first time visiting with us, you might want to get there a few minutes early to get your music and find a good place to sit.

When you come, you will be greeted at the door by one of our friendly greeters who will walk you through all of the steps of getting your music, help you find which section to sit in, and partner you with a seasoned choir member who will be able to help answer any questions that might arise during the rehearsal.

We try to make choir a fun place where people from all different walks of life come together around the blazing center of the gospel.  We hope that by coming to choir, your walk with Christ will be strengthened, and you will do exactly what you were created to do–glorify and enjoy God!

what is expected

No audition is required, and no previous vocal experience is necessary.  All you will need is a joyful spirit, a desire to worship the One who created you, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Seriously, this is, in our view, the most exciting group in the whole church!

If you do make the decision to partner with us in worship by joining the choir, we expect you to view this as a commitment.  Just like a sports team cannot operate if half of the players decide to skip practice, so we cannot live up to our full potential if we are not all in this together!  We have two enrollment terms a year, and ask that unless you are providentially hindered from being here, you attend every rehearsal and event that we have.

 additional info

We try to make choir so much more than just a group that sings on Sunday morning.  One phrase that you will hear a lot is that “worship is a sentence that we write all throughout the week.  When we come on Sunday morning, we are simply adding an exclamation point to it!”  We usually try to take on one mission project a quarter (4 a year), as well as have at least three “get togethers” throughout the year to help you connect with other choir folks outside of Wednesday nights.   We want you to feel like you are around family when you come for choir.
