What to Expect
What should I wear?
Where do I park?
Will I find a seat?
Is there something for my kids?
Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you’re an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit Mountain Park First Baptist Church.
Here’s our attempt to guess what’s on your mind and answer your questions. If we’ve missed something, let us know. You’re probably not the only one with that question, so asking us will help us help you and future guests.
What is your Sunday schedule? Worship service is at 10:30 am. Life Bible Studies meet at 9:15 am.
What do I wear? You’ll see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays. Our concern isn’t what’s on the outside, but what’s on inside. Come as you are. Besides, Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn’t we?
Where do I park? We set aside reserved parking for guests in our parking lot — just follow the red line when you come on campus and it will take you to guest parking. Parking lot attendants will help you find our Welcome Desk or any class you are looking for.
Is there anything for my children? Of course! We have Sunday options for newborns through high school seniors, including special times of worship designed just for the younger kids: Our online listing of Bible studies provides more detail about what’s available for all children, no matter what their age may be.
Do I have to give an offering? No, not unless God has so impressed you. We believe that the church is supported by the tithes and offerings of its members. As a visitor, you are not expected to participate in giving.
What is the invitation time at the end of the service? We offer a time at the end of each service for people to be able to respond to whatever God is dealing with in their lives. It might be a time for personal prayer, a specific decision about which you would like someone to counsel you, or it is at this time when people are encouraged to join the church. For more information about joining, see the icon labeled “Membership.”
How will I find a Bible study? Take a look at our online listing of classes. That could give you some idea as to where you might want to go. On Sunday, stop by the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer . A Welcome Team member can show you a listing of Life Bible Studies, including a map of where each one is located. Believe us — our goal is get every guest and member into a Life Bible Study, so we’ll go out of our way to help you get connected.
In the church I grew up in, some people had “their” seats. What if I unknowingly sit in somebody’s seat? Don’t worry about it. Sit wherever you want. Nobody has a claim on a seat. In fact, we’ll even let you save seats for your family and friends!
